MC-04 · Halyard lounge chair
See it in your room before we pour the frame.
Every Meridian piece ships as a live model, not a photograph. Turn it over, change the finish, stand it on your own floor at true scale — then we cast it.

Turn it over in your hands.
The chair below is geometry, not a render farm's output. Drag to rotate it, and switch the frame and upholstery to see the weight, lead time and price move with your choices.

How the immersive layer works
Three things replace the catalogue photograph.
WebGL model
One source of truth
The same signed-distance geometry drives the hero, the configurator and the phone. Change a dimension in the foundry file and every surface on the site changes with it.
Scroll-linked staging
The camera follows you
Scrolling the hero lowers the camera and lifts the key light, the way a photographer would work a piece on set — no video, no pre-rendered frame sequence.
AR placement
True scale, your floor
The model is measured in millimetres, so it lands on your rug at the size it will arrive. Most returns are scale mistakes; this is how we stop making them.
Room preview
Point your phone at the floor.
No app, no account. The camera finds a flat surface, the Halyard drops onto it at 820 mm wide, and you walk around it. Photograph it in place and send it to us — we'll tell you if the frame finish will fight your floor.
- Scale
Measured from the foundry file, accurate to ±2 mm.
- Light
The model reads your room's white balance and re-lights itself.
- Share
Send the placement to the studio and a maker replies within two days.
Foundry finishes
Four frames, and how each one ages.
Cast frames are not painted, so the finish is the metal itself. These are the four we pour.
| Code | Finish | Alloy | Surface | Ages to |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MC-A1 | Raw sand-cast aluminium | AlSi10Mg | Bead-blast, 40 µm | A soft grey bloom |
| MC-B2 | Blackened steel | S235 / hot black oxide | Oiled, hand-rubbed | Warm charcoal at the wear points |
| MC-V3 | Verdigris bronze | CuSn12 | Forced patina, waxed | Deeper green over five years |
| MC-P4 | Polished brass | CuZn37 | Mirror, lacquer-free | Amber tarnish unless polished |
The studio
A small foundry that would rather show you than tell you.
Meridian Cast pours in Rotterdam in batches of twelve. Because nothing is stocked, nothing can be photographed in advance — so the model came first and the photographs never happened. Every chair leaves with the file it was cast from.
